October 1, 2002 - Indieville, a half-hour
interview show, will debut on BCAT (Brooklyn Cable Access
TV) and MNN (Manhattan Neighborhood Network) this October
2002. Indieville is presenting the idea to other stations
in the New York City area as well as other metropolitan
areas.
Sponsors, filmmakers and community organizations
are supporting the idea already. The Struggling Artist
& Film Foundation is signed on as a fiscal agent
for show to distribute funds to filmmakers who are highlighted.
"The reception of this idea has been very positive-
remarkably so. We look forward to developing a new television
voice for indie film," the executive producer,
Shane Snipes, expounded.
Shane Snipes, stated, "Indieville
will explore the Independent film world through insightful
interviews, reporting on trends that are emerging, and
showcasing the humor in the work being created. We want
to explore indie film - all fascets, since Hollywood
or the mainstream-dubbed Indiewood is now trumpeting
the indie message? This is not a clash of us against
them, we want partnerships that will support new filmmakers."
Indieville will be a fresh take on this
constantly emerging art world. The show will also highlight
the latest news from this ever-changing genre. Indieville
has already begun recruiting comedy writers, production
assistants, and designers.
Highlighting the independent world of
film and art, the producers are currently accepting
submissions of film and music. All interested artists
should submit films or music to Indieville, 476 6th
Avenue #1, Brooklyn NY 11215.
